  1. now we know why the RA hasn’t accomplished much in his term because he was allegedly working on an election racketeering project, and having lap dances performed for him in the evening.

Honey the reason that I was out having a lap dance at a strip club while you were home with the 3 kids was……………………………….?

if you have a clever answer for this one, please forward it to our esteemed CE. (:

  2. Here’s a guy who is supposed to be a good Catholic boy and a County Executive with a wife and 3 kids including 2 young daughters who is out watching and grinding with someone else’s daughter at a strip club and commiserating with a strip club owner?
Sounds like a mini mobster! No wonder our taxes are the highest in the nation! How did we ever elect this guy? His family doesn’t have a good record in public administration because his father was convicted of federal crimes as a bad cop. The Feds are coming for this guy too!

  3. Folks, you’ve seen what incompetence and what slime these Dems encompass. Time to say no more!

  4. WHERE ON EARTH IS THE CSEA? ARE THEY SO SCARED THAT THEY CAN’T ADD ANYTHING TO THE DIALOGUE OR DO THEY JUST GO ALONG TO GET ALONG?

  5. Hello Westchester County CSEA and Other Union Members

We would appreciate it if you would add to these Blogs. You don’t have to use your real name or email. You can use any name and any email.

Let the taxpayers of Westchester what has really been going on during the Astorino Administration!

  6. Never so many cronies in goverment than when Spano was County Exec. Remember him? The guy that Astorino threw out 4 years ago because he just keep spending money like a drukin’ sailor so he kept raisin’ taxes?

Well who wants to go back to that? Vote for Bramson if you do. Or vote for Astorino if you like how county government with no recent tax increases has been running. The choice is simple.

And the same goes for every candidate for the BoL. Some of them have been listening to Noam too and I’m not sure they know what county government does either. Vote D if you want higher taxes, vote R if you want less taxes. Noam’s proven himself to not know how to handle finances, don’t reward him.

  7. Eligibility to become a county civil service employee: Take the civil service test, get onto the first three ranks, then do really good on the job interview.

Eligibility to become a county employee under Astorino: None, but must be his republican crony….

Astorino’s Main accomplishment: being a layoff king (sorry he hired his cronies – “promise made, promise kept” – yes, he created jobs !)

About 2% county tax cut per Astorino. I live in Greenburgh. My “COUNTY” portion of taxes were as follows for the last four years: +4.5%, -1.2%, +2.17%, and +2.54% respectively. No kidding! Log onto Greenburgh GIS, if you don’t believe me. A net increase of 8.01% for the last four years.

So People PLEASE look into your tax bill before trusting Astorino campaign on tax cuts.

  8. @bill, show us last 4 year’s tax bill. Yes, I got a tax break in 2011 (-1.2%) on the county portion. My point is Astorino claiming he reduced taxes and that is his highlight of the campaign – WHICH IS NOT TRUE. Overall county portion of the tax is a +8.01 for me last four years.

I feel for you for that +5.6 increase. Average overall taxes went up about 3% every year for us here in Greenburgh. No matter who wins, we have to pay taxes.

My problem with Astorino – He LIED, CUT SERVICES ACROSS THE BOARD, LAYOFF EMPLOYEES, HIRING HIS OWN PEOPLE, NO INFRUSTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS for the last for years.

Noam can’t do worse. Vote for NOAM… Also think about the 600+ laid off during his tenure during these hard times..

  9. Brian, Noam’s the mayor of New Rochelle that’s why you need to compare New Rochelle to Westchester County. Bringing in Greenburgh is meaningless and confusing, which I know is what you want. When the discussion turns to New Rochelle, the picture doesn’t look so good and that’s Noam’s record.

Sorry Noam can’t walk away from his record and people look closely at that record they see for themselves the horrible job as mayor of New Rochelle and realize they don’t want that for Westchester.

Maybe Noam should have hired more goons earlier?

  10. PBA, CSEA, Teamsters, Corrections etc…have all been gutless in their response to the sleazy Republican Astorino’s bunch of political cronies and propaganda. Astorino’s bunch buys them off and then tells them all to go squat like puppies-and they do it! These union members just worrying about their own self interest. Thousands of men and women in the United States have given their life and limb for this country in its history, fighting for democracy and a decent way of life, and yet these local union and association members who owe their existence to the heroes of this country have had no backbone at all to even resist local corruption! When will these union members and officers, whom the taxpayers are paying, have the guts to finally stand up against what we all know are sleazy corrupt Republican clubhouse cronies, instead of letting those same clubhouse cronies order them all to go squat like puppies?

  11. If the Republicans win tomorrow there will be many more layoffs especially CSEA members who do not have a current contract.

The Republican bunch are just laughing behind the scenes at people who believe that taxes have actually been moderated because they know that these same people really do not understand-they just listen to rhetoric.

  12. jack, is that a bad thing? County government is sort of bloated. Do you know, our neighbor CT doesn’t have county government & they do just fine?

I guess you’re looking to go back to the Spano years, but not me. I’m voting for Rob Astorino. I like keeping my taxes low so Astorino’s only choice for Westchester. Don’t waste your vote with taxem’ till there dead Gnome.

  13. County government is bloated because of the hundreds of clubhouse political cronies who have been hired by the current corrupt Republican administration.

DON’T YOU GET IT ALREADY OR ARE YOU ONE OF THEM?

  14. jack, sorry I’m only a taxpayer that’s concerned about Westchester County having the highest property taxes in the nation. Sure I’m willing to bet that Astorino hired people that he knows, did you expect him to hire strangers? But more to the point, Spano had far more “cronies” on the payroll that Astorino does and Noam will do the same, if we’re stupid enough to elect him.

  15. Last week some serious corruption charges were made against County Executive Astorino and his administration. The charges included a recorded telephone conversation. Before considering voting for him, I would like to know if he admits or denies the charges?

  16. i ninety five?
If we read what i ninety five has said we can conclude that laying off civil service employees (who have followed procedures, provided credentials and taken tests for their real jobs) is “not a bad thing” because he says “County government is sort of bloated”. On the other hand he says it’s is ok to hire “people that (the County Exec knows”-many of who have little in the way of credentials and skills-better known as political clubhouse cronies that the taxpayers have to pay for?
That’s the attitude of this Republican administration.
Watch for the civil service layoffs to be replaced by clubhouse cronies if Republican Astorino elected!

  17. jack, you need to get a life and who cares how many county employees we have? I prefer the number to be as low as possible.

But this election is about taxes & Westchester County has the highest property taxes in the country. You might not have a problem with that, but many of us do. We’d like to stay in our homes but the taxes just keep going up and with no end in sight.

It all boils down to this:

If elected, Bramson will raise your county property tax, this is a given and just look at what he’s done with New Rochelle’s taxes. Bramson hasn’t come close to staying under the tax cap and its only been around 2 years.

If elected, Astorino will hold the line on property taxes, this is a given and we’ve seen the proof over the last 4 years.

  18. Oh I forgot to mention, with all of Bramson’s ads airing frequently now, one has to wonder if he knows what the job involves as he seems to go off on subjects that aren’t controlled by any county executive in NY. It almost appears as if he’s running for congress or some other position. Not sure how that will help him run Westchester. I don’t think it will.

  19. There’s a big difference between campaigning and governing. Bramson’s good at slinging the mud (like his guys stealing those signs), but actually rolling up his sleeves to get something done? Not so good as is evident with a quick drive through downtown New Rochelle.

Astorino? Everyone’s seen the results on their property tax bills.

What else do we need to know?

  20. All that Bramson needs to do to save money is get rid of the hundreds of cronies that Astorino hired in the past 3 years to replace over 500 civil service employees who retired on a state incentive. No other County Executive has ever brought on on so many cronies -even Spano before him. If Astorino had not hired the cronies in the first place, Westchester Taxpayers could have realized a 15-20% reduction in taxes, which was the purpose of the state incentive-to provide tax relief. Instead Astorino spent the savings for his own political benefit and then tells people he didn’t raise taxes by much. What- are we all so stupid? Taxpayers can still get the reduction if all of Astorino’s cronies are dismissed.

Btw Astorino and many people in his administration were the focus of some very serious corruption charges last week contained heard a recorded telephone conversation and also allegedly documented. Why haven’t we heard from Astorino about what he thinks of these charges? Do you expect people to just go out and vote for a guy who’s been accused of election racketeering and he has nothing to say?

  21. TEA PARTY ASTORINO REPUBLICANS ARE PLANNING SOME BIG LAYOFFS AFTER THE ELECTION SO THAT CANDIDATE ASTORINO CAN “LOOK GOOD” WHEN HE RUNS FOR GOVERNOR NEXT YEAR. HE ONLY WANTS THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE JOB AS A STEPPING STONE TO BIGGER THINGS AND HE’S WILLING TO SACRIFICE CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEES NOW TO GET WHERE HE IS GOING.

  22. This race has become more than just an issue about taxes. It is about the potential for corruption, that is loading the county with clubhouse political cronies and unanswered questions about attempts to engage in election racketeering. No response has been given to charges made against the County Executive last week with the alleged evidence of a telephone conference with a strip club operator. Why would our County Executive be confiding in a person who exploits women to make his living?

  23. ut88372, makes perfect sense and you won’t want to be voting for Bramson. New Rochelle city hall is filled with his buddies and tons of political hacks.

  24. WESTCHESTER TAXPAYERS FUND POLITICAL OPPORTUNISM

County Executive Astorino has hired hundreds of political cronies (to replace 550 civil service employees who retired 3 years ago) at the expense of Westchester Taxpayers who could have gotten a 15-20% tax reduction had they not been hired. The strategy is to build an army of little campaign workers for when Astorino runs for governor next year. Taxpayers have been ripped off to pay for Astorino’s political opportunism. Plans are to lay off even more civil service employees after the election to make room for even more campaign workers.

  25. @ Andy, that’s pure fiction and you know it. If Spano had won the election 4 years ago, the county workforce would not have been reduced at all so your tax cut never would have materialized. We all know the county under Spano was headed in the wrong direction. BTW, its Noam that has filled New Rochlle City Hall with his buddies that don’t do anything.

  26. ASTORINO’S REPUBLICAN GUBERNATORIAL AMBITIONS FUNDED BY WESTCHESTER TAXPAYERS!

ASTORINO COULD NEVER HAVE MODERATED TAX INCREASES IF IT WERE NOT FOR OVER 5OO CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEE RETIREMENTS ON A NEW YORK STATE INCENTIVE PROGRAM. ASTORINO DIDN’T PERFORM ANY ADMINISTRATIVE MAGIC. ASTORINO USED THE SAVINGS TO HIRE AN ARMY OF CAMPAIGN WORKERS KNOWING THAT HE HAD A CHANCE TO RUN AS A REPUBLICAN FOR GOVERNOR NEXT YEAR AND THESE CAMPAIGHN WORKERS HAVE BEEN PAID FOR BY WESTCHESTER TAXPAYERS WHO COULD HAVE GOTTEN A SUBSTANTIAL REDUCTION IN TAXES WHICH WAS WHAR WAS INTENDED. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIGURE THIS OUT? COUNT THE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN HIRED IN COUNTY GOVERNMENT SINCE ASTORINO WAS ELECTED.
