The Westchester Board of Legislators has formed a Families Task Force and it will be chaired by Legislator Catherine Borgia, D-Ossining, the majority leader, and Kathy Halas, the executive director of the Child Care Council of Westchester.
Halas, who has been with the Child Care Council since 2003, also has experience with supportive housing, homeless services, Head Start, community mental health and home health care, according to the announcement of the task force.
Task force members will come from the county and the community and Borgia is inviting people interested in participating to contact Melanie Montalto at 914-995-8620 or MelanieM@westchesterlegislators.com.
She is also asking members of the public to fill out a survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/R2FGVPQ.
The first meeting of the Families Task Force will be 8 a.m. April 11 in the Board of Legislators conference room, 8th floor, 148 Martine Ave. White Plains.
